Generation Climate Europe, through its Funding Fairer Futures initiative, offers small grants to informal, youth-led groups working to strengthen grassroots climate activism. The fund aims to make climate action more inclusive by supporting community initiatives that may struggle to access traditional funding.

Successful applicants can receive up to €1,000, alongside training, networking and capacity-building support in areas such as project management, advocacy, communications, community mobilisation and fundraising.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must:

  • Represent a group of at least three people.
  • Be citizens or residents of an EU member state.
  • Be part of a youth-led group, with leadership or day-to-day management primarily undertaken by people under 30.
  • Propose a project lasting between 6 and 12 months, with activities starting within the specified period.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage grant funds and deliver the proposed activities.

Eligible projects may include climate awareness campaigns, public engagement, advocacy, mobilisation, training and capacity-building initiatives.

Important eligibility note: This fund is restricted to eligible groups based in the European Union, and projects must take place within the EU. It is therefore not directly open to Kenya-based groups proposing activities in Kenya.

How to Apply
